Version 2.6: At Long Last

It's been quite a while since the last release of Project Tracker - over 21 months for those that are counting. Since that time, I had my first child, moved to Manhattan, got a new job, and have generally been super-busy.

I've been wanting to get a new release out for a while, and after much work getting the code cleaned up, bugs fixed, and a few features added, I'm happy to announce that version 2.6 is now final and available for download. It's been a long road, but this version gets things back working at 100%, and adds some cool features like Google Calendar integration thanks to some great work by Matthew Williams.

All in all, there were 38 known issues in RIAForge that were fixed and closed. The 2010 bug with FCKEditor was resolved, and the SVN errors that started appearing have now been fixed and that functionality is back at 100%.

You can download the latest zip file at http://projecttracker.riaforge.org.

Things are running nice and smooth, but please be sure to submit any issues that you may encounter!

Jim Priest's Gravatar Do you know of anyone who has managed to get Mylyn connected to Project Tracker via the 'generic' web connector?

Joe Danziger's Gravatar @Jim - a few people have asked about Mylyn integration in the past, but no work has been done on this to my knowledge.

Jim Priest's Gravatar Thanks! I tinkered around with using the generic "Web Connector" and using the RSS feeds. Still need to figure out a few things but if I can make that work I'll let you know.

Kathryn Kosey's Gravatar Has the demo been updated with the new version? It looks like the login page is saying version 2.5.2 (hmm, acually, I guess trying to log in causes a cfml runtime error at the moment...). I'm hoping to check out some of the changes before merging with the version we're using at my workplace (we've customized it galore).

Birgit Pauli-Haack's Gravatar Joe this is a fine piece of software. Congratulations. We actually give it a good swirl in the last six weeks and are very happy with it. There are a few quirks though, and I added them to the issue tracker on http://projecttracker.riaforge.org/index.cfm?event...
Please feel free to write and if I can assist in any way, let me know!

Darcy's Gravatar Wonderful work. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has tried "merging" a customized 2.5.1 version of Project Tracker to the new 2.6.3 version? Just wondering how big and complicated a job that might be. (Impossible to truly comment without knowing what we've changed I realize, but still, can anyone perhaps comment on the "tentacles" of the changes in the new version? Perhaps the changes are more less localized around certain aspects vs. being spread throughout the application.)

Thanks.
